Liberty Oxygen and Medical Equipment is committed to providing superior service and offering quality products for our Minneapolis and St. Paul metro area customers. We are excited to partner with ResMed and share their latest CPAP product, the AirMini. We believe using the AirMini while traveling will reduce the disruption in CPAP therapy and risk of sleep apnea for users. Recently, we asked ResMed to share more about the AirMini product and how it can help our customers.
Continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) therapy is crucial for patients with sleep apnea to feel rested and at their best each day. Unfortunately, bedside devices can be difficult for some people to travel with. In a recent survey, 65% of CPAP users said device size is the #1 reason they don’t take their CPAP mask and equipment every time they travel,1 which disrupts their therapy and exposes them to sleep apnea’s short- and long-term risks.
This is why we created AirMini, the world’s smallest CPAP. It weighs less than one pound and fits in the palm of your hand, and conveniently in your main carry-on bag or seatback pocket.
Waterless humidification
To shrink the CPAP size, we removed the water tub. With ResMed’s AirMini, humidification is built right in to the mask system: A HumidX™ humidifier captures your exhaled heat and moisture and redelivers it for maximum portable comfort, preventing dry mouth and eliminating the need to hunt down distilled water while traveling.
Smartphone-operated
The device works with an AirMini smartphone app, available on both iOS and Android, enabling users to:
- Turn the machine on and off
- Change set-up options and comfort settings
- Track their own nightly usage data and view easy-to-read reports
The app provides up to a year of therapy history and a daily therapy score each morning. Once users download the app to their smartphones, they can connect to their AirMini via Bluetooth®. The app also offers guided equipment setup options, so patients can get a walkthrough of setting up their device preferences and fitting their mask.
CPAP and AutoSet
AirMini provides ResMed’s three main PAP therapy modes:
- CPAP
- AutoSet (automatically adjusting to your therapy pressure hourly, nightly and from season to season, this setting delivers the lowest pressure for effective treatment)
- AutoSet for Her (the world’s only PAP therapy mode designed to treat female-specific symptoms of mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea)
Works with ResMed’s latest masks
Designed as a second CPAP, AirMini works with:
- AirTouch F20, our new memory foam full face cushion
- AirFit N20 and F20, the latest silicone nasal and full face masks that fit 99 and 97 percent of patients, respectively
- A special AirMini version of ResMed’s popular AirFit P10 nasal pillows mask
Accessories
Currently, the AirMini can be used with an AC power source. The device comes with a cloth carrying case and a power cable, and other accessories are available, including a DC-DC converter, AC adapter, mount system, a travel bag and travel case, and the HumidX/HumidX Plus waterless humidifiers and filters.
What do patients think of AirMini?
More than 80 percent of patients surveyed by ResMed preferred AirMini over two longer-selling travel PAP devices.2
