At Liberty Oxygen and Medical Equipment, we like to keep the good times rolling by hosting contests and fun employee outings. Medical supplies and oxygen equipment normally isn’t very exciting, but we make the most of our short Minnesota summers and enjoy spending time with our employees and clients with a variety of company events. One example is our annual Show Us Your Crown photo contest. Liberty Oxygen and Medical Equipment donates to the American Lung Association Minnesota based on the entries we receive. With each entrant that submits a photo (or multiple photos) to the contest while wearing one of our Lady Liberty crowns, Liberty Oxygen donates $10 to the Minnesota chapter of the American Lung Association.
2016 marked our 9th Annual Show Us Your Crown contest and once again, we received many great photo entries! Each year, our friend Cheryl Sasse, RRT, Director, Lung Health, from the American Lung Association Minnesota is the official judge and chooses the winners of the contest. Thank you Cheryl for your partnership with Liberty Oxygen over the years – it is invaluable to our customers and us. We love hosting this contest each year, seeing the creative photos our clients and employees submit, and most of all knowing that together we are helping people with chronic respiratory disease get the CPAP equipment and oxygen supplies they need to maintain their maximum health.
It’s not all fun and games, we do have serious business to conduct with our clients, but our knowledgeable, experienced employees add a touch of humor to their day when helping customers understand what type of mobility equipment will be best for their situation, find the perfect fitting CPAP mask, or test out power lift chairs. We actually make shopping for raised toilet seats and compression stockings an enjoyable experience!
Recently, we invited a representative from Golden Technologies to our stores to provide training to our employees on power scooters. As I’m sure you can imagine, this training could get dry in a hurry, but we were able to add a little fun while still keeping with the important topic at hand.

We also took our show on the road… literally! We had the opportunity to visit the delightful residents of Brookdale Minnetonka Carlson Parkway Senior Living and brought our showroom to them. We performed minor equipment repairs and set up all of our lift chairs and mobile equipment options in the ice cream parlor of their senior living community. Our trained staff offered a walker check-up clinic where we tightened the brakes and performed minor repairs at no cost. It was a fun way to reach out and connect with the seniors in our Minneapolis/St. Paul area community! Find some photos from the roadshow here!
To wind up the summer, Liberty Oxygen and Medical Equipment treated our fabulous employees to a Saints game at CHS Field with tailgating activities before the game. The weather was perfect and the Saints organization always provide some crazy entertainment throughout the baseball game, plus we added some of our own activities before the game too!
